9A - Developing a Translation Tool for Competency Frameworks

Evolution of Co-operative Education
mardi 31 juil.   02:45 PM à 03:40 PM (55 minutes)
Concordia, John Molson Building (MB) - The Goodman Institute- Suite MB 10.121

We will present a tool we have created to help students navigate between competency frameworks used by major employers. In today’s labour market, learning the language of an employer and mirroring it in cover letters and resumes is key to success. In the labour market of the near future, as major employers—such as the federal government—shift from a posting-driven recruitment method to one focused on online profiles and skill inventories, the capacity to be fluent and flexible in translating one’s knowledge, skills, and abilities from one employer’s competency framework to another’s will gain importance. Join us to learn more about our pilot of this tool and how you can adapt it for use with the students and employers you work with.
