Break and Transition to 9th floor   09:50 AM to 10:15 AM (25 minutes)
Concordia, John Molson Building (MB) - BMO Amphitheatre -MB 1.120

By bridging two 2018 national studies, this dynamic presentation will examine the underlying drivers of career decisions among Canadians. Dr. Jon Callegher of Job Talks will take attendees through 5 new segments of the Canadian workforce, from the Square Pegs and Bottom Rungers to the Musketeers, Comfortable and Fulfilled. Jon will also reveal how workers in the widely misunderstood Skilled Trades sectors describe their work in their own words, how it compares to other jobs, and how they would encourage others to enter their field. During the period leading up to the conference, new insights about other sectors of work will be added. Jon will conclude with strategic recommendations for how Co-operative Education practitioners and partners can recruit the right people to the jobs that are right for them.
