Acting Director, Management Career Services
Dalhousie University
Participates in 1 Session

Robert is currently the Acting Director of Management Career Services (MCS) at Dalhousie University. MCS is a combined co-op and career services unit that provides work integrated learning and career development services for approximately 2,000 students from four different programs within Dalhousie’s Faculty of Management.

Since 2008 Robert has seen the world of co-op and career services through several professional lenses. He began with Dalhousie coaching students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and worked with a variety of employers as a Career and Recruitment Specialist. Since that initial role, he has developed operational efficiencies as Operations Manager, project managed the roll out of the Orbis Platform across four co-op/career services units, and is now serving as Acting Director for a second time.

Prior to joining Dalhousie University, Robert worked for over 11 years in the areas of marketing and business development in the travel industry, where he leveraged co-op students from Dalhousie to help support a busy regional marketing team. He has also explored his entrepreneurial side, owning and operating a computer training business through which he taught more than 500 students and provided customized training solutions for both private public sector organizations.

Robert holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Saint Mary’s University and a Master of Arts (Leadership) from the University of Guelph. Follow him on Twitter @rgwooden for tweets related to career development, co-operative education and more or connect with him at:
